One theme in the book was 'The boss isn't always right.'. This is a theme, because in the book, Cassia is matched with Xander. SPOILER ALERT!!: Cassia doesn't end up with Xander! so, in this case, society (or, the Boss) was wrong. Throughout the book, Cassia has a hard time making a decision between the known, and unknown. Cassia has known Xander all her life, but she's only known Ky for a short time. Who will she choose?
Cassia is a very dynamic character, throughout the book, she goes through major changes. At the beginning of the book, she was very obedient, and always did what the officials told her. Towards the end of the book, she was very rebellious, and I would blame this on Ky. She wants to fight for what she believes in. The other characters did not really change.
